H is for... Julie Hyzy

ere's hoping you all will forgive me for today's entry.  Julie Hyzy doesn't write romance, but her cozy mystery series is just too good to pass up without a mention.

I found the White House Chef series when I was living just outside of Washington, D.C., and I loved reading a cozy mystery series set so close to me.  These are fun, clever books, and while the emphasis is on the mysteries, Chef Olivia does have a boyfriend, so there is a little bit of romance.  That counts for my theme, right? ;)

Do you like reading mysteries?

  1. I do love mysteries. However, I rarely read cozies except for my friends books. I didn't know there were cozies set in the political world.

    1. The fun thing about cozies is that you can find a series set in pretty much any situation. I love going to the bookstore and just looking at all the clever covers :)

  3. The world doesn't revolve around romance, eh? (Oh wait, yes it does!) I used to read mysteries, and while I occasionally pick one up, I don't usually get into them unless there's a ghost involved. ;)

  4. I do! I used to be a big fan of Mary Higgins Clark in high school.

    1. Can you believe I've never read her? Adding to the list!

  5. I do as long as it's not a straight up mystery- they tend to be a bit starchy for me.

    1. I agree--I like the 'lighter' tone of a cozy mystery.
