B is for... Ben's Chili Bowl

Welcome back to the A to Z challenge! Today we're exploring the letter B.

First up is Ben's Chili Bowl, a D.C. institution.  Located on U Street in the Shaw neighborhood, Ben's is a longstanding D.C. tradition.  They serve amazing chili dogs and chili burgers, and everyone who is anyone has eaten here, from movie stars to Presidents.  They're right down the street from the 9:30 Club, so if you're out for a show, be sure to grab dinner here first!

Next is the Black Cat, a popular music venue.  It's in the U Street/Shaw neighborhood as well.  I saw many great concerts here, so if live music is your thing, you'll definitely want to check out their schedule!

That's it for the letter B.  Have you eaten at Ben's?  I love the chili dogs, but I could be persuaded to get a chili burger...

  4. There's no better street food than chili dogs... topped with lots of onions, of course! It's not good date food, but still delicious.

  14. I haven't eaten at Ben's, but it sounds yummy. Sadly, I don't know of a place to get excellent chili dogs and chili burgers around here. Though I hear there's a very popular hot dog joint that does all kinds up in Denver.

  16. The chili bowl, awesome! My hubby had chili on eggs yesterday, couldn't believe it! He loves the stuff!

My recipe came in second in a local contest -- not bad, probably not hot enough! :)
