Celebrate the Small Things - Arts and Crafts edition

Happy Friday!  How was your week?  Hopefully you have lots of little things to celebrate.

This week, I'm excited about spending time with some friends on Saturday afternoon.  Mister and I are going on a double date with some good friends to one of those painting with wine places, and it should be a lot of fun.

In other news, I am now hooked on BBC crime dramas.  Mister and I binged the first 3 seasons of Sherlock, and I'm on pins and needles waiting for the latest season to come out on DVD (no spoilers, please!)  We're passing the time watching Luther--we just started season 3 of that show.  Any suggestions on what to watch once we finish Luther?

Just so you know, I'm running a giveaway over on Happily Ever After Thoughts through Sunday.  Head over and enter for your chance to win one of three copies of my latest book, Dr. Do or Die.

Hope you have a great weekend!  Any exciting plans?

If you've been reading my blog, you know that Fridays are reserved for a post where I celebrate the little things that have happened during the week. Celebrate the Small Things - Social Butterfly edition

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you've all had a good week!

I have lots of plans this weekend, which is a bit outside the norm.  Usually we have lazy days, but that won't be the case this week.

On Saturday, I'm participating in the North Richland Hills Library's first ever Local Author Festival as part of their Year of the Book celebrations!  I'll have a table set up in the lobby to sell books, and I'll be speaking from 12-12:10 pm. If you are in the DFW area, please consider stopping by--there's loads of other authors participating, and the library has some really fun events planned!

On Sunday and Monday, I'll be blogging at Just Romantic Suspense and on Monday I'll also be over at Get Lost in a Story.  I'm giving away copies of Dr. Do or Die at both sites, so please stop by for your chance to win!

What are your weekend plans?  I hope you have fun, whatever you wind up doing!

Celebrate the Small Things - New Year edition

Happy New Year!  How has the first week of 2017 treated you?  Well, I hope.

Do any of you make resolutions?  I made a couple of goals for the new year, and I'd love to hear about yours!

One of my goals is to cook more meals at home.  I generally cook 3-4 dinners a week, but some weeks are busier than others and we wind up doing take-out or ordering pizza more often than I'd like.  It gets expensive, and it's not the healthiest for us.  So this year, I'm going to try to cook 6-7 dinners per week, and to eat more lunches at home as well.  I know we're only 6 days in, but so far, I've cooked all week.  I drew up a meal plan on Saturday, which made my grocery shopping a lot easier.  It's also nice to know what I'm going to make each day, as it takes a little pressure off when it's time to start preparing dinner.  I was already a big fan of using my crock pot, and I know it's really going to get a workout this year!

It's very cold here (for Texas, that is), and it's supposed to stay that way all weekend.  Mister and I have started watching the new Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, so I imagine we'll spend some time on the couch binge watching the second and third seasons (yay for library DVD check-out!).  I know we're late to the party on that show, but we're really enjoying it and it's nice to have a pile of episodes to watch so we don't have to wait for new ones to come out.

What are your weekend plans?  Anything exciting going on in your neck of the woods?  Thanks to everyone for your patience with my blogging hiatus--posting more frequently is another of my goals, so I hope you'll keep me accountable!

Have a great weekend!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and productive 2017!

Mister and I are headed to the movies today, for the first time in what feels like forever.  We're off to see Assassin's Creed, because he likes video games and I like Michael Fassbender :)  Hopefully it will be entertaining, but if not, I love me some movie theater popcorn, so I'll be happy either way.

How are you celebrating the new year?  If you're looking for something to read, my latest book, Dr. Do or Die releases in digital format today!  I hope you'll check it out!

Two doctors are on thin ice as they race to save the world from a deadly disease.
Epidemic researcher Dr. Avery Thatcher has studied countless illnesses…but nothing prepares her for what she finds at a remote Antarctic base: the man she never wanted to see again and a mysterious ailment ravaging inhabitants. Avery will do whatever it takes to discover the illness's cause, and she vows to keep her heartbreaking history with Dr. Grant Jones in the past—even if reignited passion brings them dangerously close.
For Grant, ending this outbreak and regaining Avery's trust are vital. As their hunt to contain a lethal pathogen escalates, he'll put everything on the line to avert disaster. But will another insidious threat stop them both cold?

Celebrate the Small Things - Catch up edition

Hello, everyone!  I'm sorry to have missed the last few weeks of posts, but time simply got away from me.  I'm happy to report we're all doing well, and I've got lots to celebrate!

My latest book, Enticed by the Operative, releases in digital form today and in print on Tuesday!  It's the first book in my Doctors in Danger miniseries, so I'm pretty excited.  Here's the back cover blurb, if you're interested:

The lives of a beautiful surgeon and her DEA agent protector are at stake in this thrilling tale!
On a medical mission to South America, Dr. Olivia Sandoval hardly expects to be threatened by a drug cartel. To save lives, Olivia agrees to transport drugs for them. When DEA agent Logan Murray appears as her partner-in-crime and rescuer, Olivia's relieved…and drawn to her knight in shining armor.
Logan jumps at the chance to guard a beautiful woman and bring down a drug ring. After all, neither he nor Olivia are looking for forever love—just justice. But one kiss changes that as they go on the run. When taken hostage in the jungle, they must not only defeat the enemy—but also escape with their lives!
I'm also happy to report that I got the edits back for Dr. Do or Die, the second book in my Doctors in Danger miniseries, and I managed to write a fairly decent synopsis for the third book in the series--at least, I thought it was decent.  Keep your fingers crossed my editor likes it!
I have some book giveaways going on at Goodreads, and I have some guest blog posts next week (complete with giveaways!) so please watch this space--I'll post details as soon as the links go live!
It's a holiday weekend here, and Mister has Monday off.  I think we're going to spend some time with family, which should be nice.  We may even have a date and go get pedicures together--I had to twist his arm to get him to go the first time, but he realized he likes the way it makes his feet feel so it's been a lot easier to convince him to go again.
What about you?  Any big plans for the weekend?

Celebrate the Small Things -- A little bit of everything edition

Happy Friday!  I've got lots to celebrate this week, so let's get started!
Lara Lacombe Nashville skyline
The view from the wedding venue...
I missed last week's post because we were traveling to Nashville for my brother's wedding.  It was the first time we had tried to travel with Little Roo, and I'm happy to report she was a real champ.  She slept through most of the flights and did pretty well in the hotel, too.  She was also a very good sport about the number of people who wanted to meet her/hold her/talk to her.  Overall, it was a very successful trip, and the wedding itself was lovely.

Speaking of weddings, on Monday Mister and I had our second anniversary.  We went to see Captain America to celebrate (fun movie, I would recommend it) and this weekend we are going to the symphony which should be a nice treat.

We got a new washer and dryer, and I am loving it! Our old set still worked, but it was a little too small and I got tired of doing load after load after load of laundry.  The new set is bigger, and I've already made quite a dent in my laundry backlog!

I hope to get some writing time this weekend.  My book is due next Friday, and it has a title--Dr. Do or Die.  What do you guys think?  They're working on the cover now, and I can't wait to see it!

That's it for me.  There are some cool things brewing on the writing front, but I'm not allowed to talk about it yet--you'll just have to stay tuned! ;)

How was your week?  What are your plans for the weekend?  Let me know!
