Hi everyone!  I'm over at Just Romantic Suspense today and tomorrow, promoting my new release LETHAL LIES!  Drop by and say hi, and tell me about your favorite winter weather for a chance to win a print copy of my book :)

Trusting the man she loves could cost her her life

Putting her faith in someone who lies for a living isn't the safest thing Dr. Jillian Mahoney has ever done. But to stay alive, she has to believe the undercover agent—who's kidnapped her to prove his innocence—isn't a traitor to the FBI. And to help him, she must deny their intense attraction as they run from two vengeful killers.

Her captor, Alex Malcom, has lived a life of lies—some worse than others. Still, there's one truth he's reluctant to disclose to Jillian, the woman of his dreams. One that could stop their relationship cold.

Photo Friday - Covers, covers, and more covers!

This Friday, I'm excited to share some fabulous covers with you all.  Friend of the blog Yolanda Renee has two upcoming releases, and not only do they sound really good, the covers are amazing!  Check them out!

A killer plays cat and mouse with a young widow against the snowy backdrop of an Alaskan winter. Branded a black widow after the suspicious death of her millionaire husband, Sarah Palmer flees Seattle for Anchorage. But the peace and quiet she hoped to enjoy in her hometown is soon shattered. The killer is murdering Sarah look-alikes on the 14th of each month, taunting Sarah with a valentine of evidence. After her experiences in Seattle, Sarah is slow to go to the police. When she finally does, she finds Detective Steven Quaid, who is called on to protect the beautiful widow from a stalker intent on her destruction. Steven is not entirely sure she is not behind the scheme herself, and before long Sarah has him wound up tighter than barbed wire. Is Sarah a victim or a very skilled manipulator? With a killer on the loose and a climbing body count, Steven can't afford to hedge his bets-or his life.

After transferring to Seattle to repair his professional reputation, Detective Steven Quaid is unexpectedly demoted to the cold case squad. While helping a fellow officer he stumbles upon an unusual case–and an even more extraordinary foe. Unraveling the mystery gives him the case he is sure will right his stalled career, and brings him face to face with Luke Williams, aka Lucifer. An insidious man who delivers Quaid the ultimate choice: save his fiancée from an assassin’s bullet or stop the sacrifice of a young girl. Suddenly the effort to salvage his reputation pales in comparison to the loss of a future with the girl of his dreams.

And here's a little more about Yolanda herself:

Although a native Pennsylvanian, Yolanda Renée chose to follow her adventurous spirit, which led her to Alaska where the Detective Quaid Series is set. Renée loves books, reading them, writing them, owning them – they are 'her precious'! She is all about mystery, murder, and romance . . . writing it! She is adventurous, shy, and creative. She is a wife, a mother, and a dreamer with an unquenchable desire for knowledge and an idealistic belief in good - yet she writes evil - but that's only because she loves defeating it!

A former controller who still loves numbers and now works hard to tell her stories in as few words as possible. Winning Flash Fiction challenges is her hobby and publishing her Detective Quaid mystery series her quest! She currently resides in Central Pennsylvania, with her husband, two sons, and the boss, Patches, her Boston terrier. You can learn more about Renée at her websites:

Congrats on your upcoming releases!  Thanks for sharing your covers with us today!

Celebrate the Small Things with a Guest Post by Jodi Thomas!

I'm so excited to welcome NYT and USA Today bestselling author Jodi Thomas to the blog today!  I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Thomas at DFW Con two years ago, and I very much enjoyed her class.  She's dropping by the blog today to talk about her latest release, Can't Stop Believing.  Without further ado, let me turn it over to Jodi!

When I began writing CAN’T STOP BELIEVING, I wanted to write a story about second chances.  Like they always do, characters began to dance in my head, jumping up and down wanting to tell their stories.  Some authors develop characters with long outlines and background studies.  I pretty much just wait around for them to drop by, sit down and tell me their stories.

Cord McMillan did just that.  He’d completely destroyed his life one night just before he turned eighteen.  Seven years later no one in Harmony wanted to talk to him, much less be his friend.  If he hadn’t inherited his parents little farm, he’d have had nothing and the farm was in so much trouble he had to work in town to keep from losing it. Nevada Britain had rich land and money, but her reputation was worse than Cord’s.  Neither trusted anyone but a need to survive brought them together and they formed a bond no one could break.

I’m over my ‘after the book’ blues that always hits when a book is finished.  I’ve moved on to another story, but these characters will always be in the back of my mind like old friends.  I hope for all of you they will be that as well.

So, now it’s your chance to step into my Harmony, Texas.  You’ll find love and lose love while you laugh and cry at the turns in life for the people of Harmony.  And, it is my hope that you’ll care about them all as dearly as I have.

Welcome, step on in and meet the folks,

Jodi Thomas

Jodi's books always have great covers, don't you think?

Cord McDowell gave up his freedom at eighteen when he went to jail for a crime he didn’t commit. Now, ten years later, he’s about to give it up again for a piece of land. Nevada Britain, his neighbor, has just made him an offer he can’t refuse: If he’ll marry her, she’ll sign over a section of property that their families have been fighting over for a hundred years. Nevada refuses to explain why, but Cord knows the bargain is in his favor. He just has one condition—she has to sleep in his bed every night for as long as their doomed marriage lasts. Nevada only wants to maintain her family’s legacy—and redeem herself for a wrong she did Cord years ago. But as she spends more time with her husband of necessity, she discovers something unexpected—a love so deep it takes her breath away.

I don't know about you, but I just love marriage of convenience stories!

I hope you've enjoyed Jodi's guest post.  I always love having visitors drop by the blog, and it's one of the things I'm celebrating this week!  Be sure to stop by VikLit's blog for the sign up list so you can join us on this great hop!
