Photo Friday -- 'And in the end...'

The picture is a little blurry, but that's my project statistics window from Scrivener.  Why am I posting this?  Because my revisions for Edge of Trust are done!  The editor requested I add about fifteen thousand words, and I wound up writing closer to twenty thousand.  I don't think that will be an issue though, because the manuscript is (barely) under the word limit for this line.

Keep your fingers crossed that the editor likes my story updates!

I think I told you that last month at the RWA National meeting, I had an editor request my full manuscript and a synopsis.  I finally finished the formatting and final read-through of Edge of Trust tonight, and just sent my first finished book whirring through cyberspace to land (softly, I hope) in the inbox of said editor.  Now the waiting begins.

Editors and agents are always talking about 'voice' or that 'next big thing.'  I'm too close to this book to tell if it has either one, but I sure do hope so.  I've had some awesome beta readers (thanks, guys!), and they didn't punish me for making them read the book, so I'm hopeful this editor will enjoy it as well.  Either way, I will definitely let you know.

And in the end...

It's done.  Edge of Trust is finished.  Finished is a relative term, as there will be edits, but the story is complete and done and Kelly and James have their happy ending.  Which is good, because Thomas was getting a little impatient.  I'm off to bed now, but tomorrow, I will start to work on his story in earnest.

I can't wait.
