Celebrate the Small Things - Beta edition

It's time for another edition of Celebrate the Small Things, a blog hop hosted by the lovely VikLit.  Join us, and take a few minutes to read all the little things we're celebrating this week.  It's always an enjoyable experience.

This week, I'm celebrating the fact that 2 of my author friends have trusted me to do beta reads on their books.  I am abysmally slow in getting back to them, but I am diligently working every day, and I love their stories. These are some truly talented ladies, and I cannot wait for their stories to be released into the world so that other people can enjoy them.  I've learned so much about writing from them, and their books have really re-awakened my love of historical romance. No lie--these books are great, and they deserve a huge audience!

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. I'm celebrating that I only have one more scene to write and my first draft is done!

It is such an honor to be asked to beta read. The fact that someone values your (you in general) opinion and trusts you is always wonderful.

  2. I saddened by the loss of the RFW, but I know soon something even more exciting will come along! And while I should be celebrating the re-release of my first novel - I feel like I'm in a holding pattern, fearful that if I do celebrate - it won't come to pass. It's been an odd two days! :)

I've never been a beta/CP, but I'm looking forward to the experience one day...
At the moment, I'm celebrating that one of my pieces has been accepted for online publication.

I'm sure you will learn a lot from each other, I would be totally lost if I didn't have other writer friends to share our *almost* shaped babies with lol
