It's. So. Hot. Like, melt your shoes to the sidewalk hot. And although we are promised a 'cold' front that will drop temperatures into the 90's (ha!), I don't know how much more I can take.
A few years ago, I lived in the D.C. area. Winter was a brutal thing for this Texan girl, and I was not sorry to leave the snow.
Until now.
Ahh... I feel cooler already!
I think I miss snow more as a concept than an actual thing. I loved in CT, MA, and NY for years, so I had plenty of unforgettable snow moments. But I sure wish the weather were more temperate.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog. I try not to write about places I don't know. My MC only stays in Chicago for 2 chapters before going to southern Indiana, a place I know very well. :-)
You know, you're right. The idea of snow is much nicer than the reality, unless you can stay bundled up in front of a fire with hot chocolate, a kitty, and a good book :)
DeleteI lived in Albany, NY for most of my life, now I'm in Ghana. I have not missed the snow once in the past seven years. I still get chills thinking about winter, and then I thank God for the tropical weather. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteAlbany to Ghana? That's quite a switch! Good thing you like the heat :)
DeleteIn my ares, the highs today aren't supposed to get out of the 60's and I'm thrilled. I'm so excited to wear jeans!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, that sounds so lovely! My favorite season is fall, so I can wear sweaters and jeans all the time :)
DeleteOh, dear. Having just survived a heat wave here in New England, I sympathize whole-hartedly. And Texas (a state I absolutely love!) is so good at doing 'HOT!' Enjoy your weekend and stay cool
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana! You too! :)
DeleteYesterday it was in the fifties when I got up, today in the sixties, like that so much better. Hate, hate the hot! Mild, temperate, that's good, too hot, too cold, no, no, no!
ReplyDeleteThat picture does cool you down though!
I know what you mean--I much prefer 50-70 range of temperatures. Unfortunately, we only get that for about 3 weeks a year!
DeleteI miss snow so much! It's been a cool wet spring here. I'm so glad the rain has finally stopped but the climbing temperatures are not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteIt must be green with all the rain though!
DeleteWe (here in PA) were there last week but thankfully got a series of storms that kicked the temperatures down about 30 degrees. Some people are complaning that it's now too cold for July. I have something for all of those peole: duct tape!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are granted the same reprieve very, very soon!
Our cold fronts this time of year don't really cool us off that much, but I'm glad you're doing better! :)
DeleteOnly 90's! You lucky thing you. Afternoon early evening showers only bring the temp down a few degrees but the humidity rises to unbearable!
ReplyDeleteMissing snow? Not me, uh uh. Imagine an old woman with one workable arm and leg shoveling the path or driveway? Worthy of AFV for sure.
Humidity is the worst--I much prefer an Arizona like heat, if I have to be hot.
DeleteThat looks all too familiar! I don't care! As long as there's no nasty humidity, I'll take the heat any day! Must be nice and toasty in Texas :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish our heat was more like Arizona--dry, as they say. Still, at a certain point, it's just hot, humidity or no.
