Celebrate the Small Things - Spring Break edition

Woo hoo!  It's the mid-point of the semester, which means it's time for spring break!  Believe me, I know how lucky I am to have a job where I get a week off and it doesn't cost me any vacation time :)

While I wish I could say I'll spend my days lounging on a beach sipping a fruity drink, I will in fact be packing like a fiend and moving, trying to get everything taken care of before going back to work. Five days sounds like a lot of time, but I have a sinking feeling that I won't be able to get everything done.  Cross your fingers for me!

How was your week?

If you've been reading my blog, you know that Fridays are reserved for a post where I celebrate the little things that have happened during the week.  This is a blog hop hosted by VikLit, and it's one of my favorite blogging things to do.  I encourage you to check out her blog and the full list of participants, because who doesn't love reading about good things?

  1. I taught at a year round school that never had any spring or summer or any other breaks. Not even snow days. I can imagine how nice that spring break must be.

The last time I moved, my family came up for the day and unpacked everything in sight, so the house was all unpacked in a day. Of course, I had to spend the next two months calling my mother to find out where they had put everything.

Happy moving! I hope it goes smoothly for you.

    1. I had a similar experience the last time I moved--my Mom took it upon herself to unpack the kitchen, which made things interesting for me the first few weeks.

      Have a good weekend!

  2. Good luck on your move! It's too bad that it has to eat up your whole break, though. Have a nice weekend and congrats on your book!

  3. Spring Break was one of those longed for holidays when I taught school. Every time I see the words, I can hear and see one of my colleagues (a late 50s something) jumping up and down and screaming, "Spring Break! Spring Break!) Thanks for the memories.

    1. Sometimes, I think the professors look forward to the breaks even more than the students! :)
