Celebrate the Small Things - Musical edition
Happy Friday! Sorry to be a little late in posting, but the day got away from me.
This week, I'm celebrating my recovery from the sinus infection from hell. I still have a few sniffles, but I feel loads better compared to this time last week. Hooray for modern medicine!
Today, Little Roo had her first music appreciation class. She had a blast! We sang songs, chanted, danced, and they had several kid-friendly instruments for her to play with. She even played alongside a little boy and his sister, which is huge because she's normally a watcher rather than a player. The class meets every Friday until August, and I'm excited to go back next week :)
We don't have any big weekend plans--just errands and the usual weekend stuff. What about you? Tell me what's going on so I can live vicariously through you!
If you've been reading my blog, you know that Fridays are reserved for a post where I celebrate the little things that have happened during the week. This is a blog hop created by Vikki and now hosted by Lexa Cain, and it's one of my favorite blogging things to do. I encourage you to check out her blog and the full list of participants, because who doesn't love reading about good things?

So glad you had fun with your little girl in her music class. I think music and Arts are so important for kids. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks! She loves music, and Mister and I want to encourage her interest in it since we think it's such an important part of life. :)
DeleteGlad to hear you're feeling better! And how fun to be in a music class with your little one. I'm afraid my weekend plans aren't any more exciting than yours. Got to love the normal times in life too though :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely--I'm a big fan of 'boring' :)
DeleteThat is SO adorable!! I come from a musical family and I had music classes all through Middle and high school. I think it's super important for kids to learn art and culture. It's something they'll appreciate knowing their whole lives. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I never took lessons as a kid, and I definitely regret it. My brother plays the saxophone though, and it's something he continues to enjoy even though he's no longer in a band. I hope we can give Little Roo that gift as well.
DeleteHow lovely that you got to a tots music appreciation class. I went to one recently with my granddaughter and it was such fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to see the kids play and dance!
DeleteAwww...how sweet!!! Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too!
DeleteI'm a great believe in exposing children to art and music when they are young. These become life long pleasures that really develop the spirit and one's independent slant on things. Wonderful that you are encouraging your little girl.
ReplyDeleteThat's "great believer". (Typing too fast.)
DeleteNo worries--I knew what you meant ;)
DeleteGlad you're over your sinus infection. I've had a few of those over the years. Not pleasant at all. I think music appreciation is a great thing for kids to learn/do.

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the sinus infection is going away. The music class must have been so much fun. I think it's great to expose kids to all kinds of music early in life. Enjoy those classes this summer!
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to live vicariously through me. We spent the weekend drying out boxes from our storage unit that had been soaked over the winter. We also spent a bit of time at our property cutting down trees and hauling logs and branches. Good times.
ReplyDeleteOh the colds and such this year have been mean! I got caught up in that too and man it's good feeling better! Hope yall had a good week!
ReplyDeleteI HATE sinus infections. With allergies like mine, I have to be super careful to avoid them, and once they start, they go on FOREVER. I guess the down times really make us appreciate the ups, eh?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your sinus infection. Being sick in the summer makes me feel like I'm in another world, as if everyone else is having fun except me. I hope you get rid of it soon!
ReplyDeleteThe music class sounds like fun! No pun intended.
I think it's so important to teach children a love of music from a young age. I have a lovely memory of attending a singing group for babies and toddlers with my granddaugher before she could walk.
