I got married last Friday (yay!). We opted for a small, courthouse ceremony, and it was absolutely perfect--just what we wanted.
On Saturday, we had a reception dinner with family and friends. Everything was going great, until Mister starting feeling a little 'off.' I dropped him at home and then took his family back to their hotel. I arrived home a bit later to find that he was starting to feel better. We climbed into bed to watch the video of my brother's toast, when Mister suddenly shot up and bolted to the bathroom, expelling his fancy dinner in a matter of minutes.
The toilet looked like a scene from a horror movie. Armed with Clorox wipes and determination, we cleaned up, pausing when his stomach demanded it.
I told him he was testing out the 'in sickness' part of our vows a little early. He was not amused. In hindsight, I probably should have waited until his head was out of the toilet before making light of his food poisoning.
Poor Mister had a miserable night, but fortunately he was feeling much better the next morning. And me? I'm just glad he's recovered. I love him, but there's only so much vomit I can take before my own stomach starts to revolt! :)
How was your weekend?
I'm glad to know that Mister is feeling better, but I'm so sorry to hear that he was sick at all.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and best wishes to you both!
Thanks, M.J.! :)
DeleteOh. Dear. Not the best way to spend one's wedding weekend. But memorable. Something to laugh about when you share the story with your children! ;)
ReplyDeleteMost definitely! :)
DeleteCongratulations on your nuptials! It could have been worse. The ickier could have happened on your wedding day.
ReplyDeleteVery true--at least he waited until we got home! :)
DeleteOh! {{{{hugs}}}} for a nasty start, but now that you've got *that* out of the way, y'all are on your way to better days. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so! :)
DeleteI wonder what he had to eat! Hopefully you'll be able to look back and laugh at this. And congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nick! I appreciate it! :)
DeleteLOL Talk about a story to pass down to your kids!
ReplyDeleteSorry your wedding night turned sour, but that's love. ;)
Congratulation on your nuptials!
I released my debut novel yesterday (which I think you already know), so my weekend was one big bundle of nervous anticipation. :D
Congrats on your release! So exciting for you! :)
DeleteAh! Congrats!!! Yay! I'm so sorry the evening was such a wreck, but my goodness, what a story. You are going to write this incident into a fun piece, right?
ReplyDeleteI think I almost _have_ to! :)
DeleteOh no, poor guy!!! The timing on that is the worst! Heartfelt congratulations to both of you, and here's hoping you just got the 'sickness' part out of the way for good!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz! I hope so too! :)
DeleteSo now your Gentleman friend is your own Gentleman!
ReplyDeleteWishing you much happiness and many years together.
...and no food poisoning again, ever.
Thanks, Diana! Here's hoping!
DeleteCONGRATULATIONS!! A Wedding Night to Remember, eh??
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah!
DeleteSo making an honest man out of him made him get rid of all the 'singleness' left in him the very same night. Literally. lol
ReplyDeleteGlad he's recovered. Congratulations!!!
That's a good way to look at it! :)
DeleteHi Lara! That's so, so wonderful! Congratulations! No, wait, SUPER congratulations :D!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Randi! I appreciate it! :)
DeleteCongratulations Lara! That's a beautiful ring. My last weekend wasn't that eventful, but I'm heading off on a day trip to Montreal this weekend--so that should be fun. (Given I've been there a gazillion times.)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Mister felt better at the end. Sounds like a HEA to me
Hope you had a great trip to Montreal! I've never been, but it's on my list of places to visit :)
DeleteHuge congratulations to you both! Sorry about Mister's food poisoning, but in years to come I'm sure you'll both be able to laugh about it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a long and prosperous life together xxx
Thanks so much for the kind words! :)
