Celebrate the Small Things - Winter Break edition

We've reached the end of another week--let's celebrate!  Stop by VikLit's blog if you'd like to join us.

Today, I'm celebrating the start of my winter break. One of the perks of being a professor is that I get a few weeks off in December, between the end of the Fall term and the beginning of the Spring term.  It makes this time of year even better, because the natural chaos of the holidays is so much easier to deal with when I'm not working full-time.  Of course, I'll be writing full-time, but no one looks at me funny when I do that in my pajamas.

I'm also celebrating the fact that I have my very first book signing tomorrow!  For those of you in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I'll be at the Barnes & Noble by the Northeast Mall starting at 2 pm.  Stop by and say hi!

How was your week?  What are you celebrating today?

  8. Congratulations on your first book signing!!! I'm celebrating 1.) living at the beach in California even during a cold snap, 2.) finding out my tooth does not have to be pulled--it's a sinus infection!, and 3.) having my young adult horror story, Death House, get accepted for publishing (woo hoo!), as well has having my short story, "Christmas After All," released tomorrow in a Christmas anthology called A Touch of Winter. Happy Holidays!

  10. I might sound like a bad teacher when I state that my favorite part about the job is those long breaks. Love em. Of course I like the teaching part of teaching too, but those breaks are like some sort of bonus. Enjoy.
