This week, I'm celebrating my progress on book 3.  I started writing on Monday at a friend's house, and was able to make quite a bit of progress--5000 words in 2 days.  I don't think I'll be able to sustain that pace, but it was nice while it lasted. :-)

How was your week?

  1. That's awesome and your right, it is fun when it just flows, but remember breaks will help when things slow down. I hate housework, but it's amazing the solutions to plot that come to me when cleaning toilets, and dusting the thousands of nick knacks I have around the house. After my re-writing marathon I actually enjoyed doing the mundane and my brain appreciated it too!
    Great reason to celebrate!

    1. Thanks, Yolanda! I actually had a breakthrough while brushing my teeth last night. I always love it when that happens :)

  2. Wow! Congrats on starting off the new WIP with 5000 words. That's awesome! I'm still stuck on the characters for my new WIP and as usual haven't written a thing. But notes should arrive from my editor soon on the book coming out in Dec, so I'll have plenty to do. :-)

  11. 5,ooo words? While socializing? That's great - and I bet the friendship helped! That's worth celebrating, for certain! Well done!

    1. The socializing only occurs during the pre-approved break periods, which really helps keep me focused. :)

  12. Yay for progress! I'm like you - if I don't have a thousand things going on, then nothing gets done. I also can't seem to write when there are others around and yet don't want to be by myself every evening. Ah, the twists and turns of procrastination...

    1. I can understand that--writing is so solitary, it's nice to have company, but I don't want them to talk to me or anything :)

  13. It would be wonderful if you could maintain that pace. Have a great weekend.
