Photo Friday - This land is my land!

This week I bought some land.  After looking at my options, I realized it's cheaper to have a house payment than to pay rent on an apartment. For many reasons, it's better for me to build a house from scratch than to try to find a house to buy, so that's what I'm doing.

This is the first time I've ever owned anything, and I think it's pretty cool.  I'll definitely post pictures of the ongoing construction, and I hope that this fall, I'll be writing in my new house!

  1. With ownership comes a huge host of decisions, but it is yours.

I have done both. I bought a home already made, and bought property to build on and develop the house in my vision. Eventually, I will move onto my property permanently, but until then this house will suffice.

BTW, the property house is paid for and a build as we go so no mortgage. The beginning of last year the target date for the move was this year, but then I had my stroke. Now it's a five-year plan.

I'm happy for you. There's no greater feeling than owning something. I will be doing the Snoopy dance of happiness when I pay my final mortgage payment on this house in 2015 because it will be mine all mine and not mine and the bank's.

    2. To do list or not it's an adventure. Just remember to be firm yet flexible and enjoy it!
