Celebrate the Small Things - Pedicure edition

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the sporadic nature of my posts over the past few weeks--it's amazing how the days get away from me now!  Anyhow, I trust you've all been doing well.  I'm emerging from the zombie-like state of intense sleep deprivation that I've learned accompanies Little Roo's growth spurts.  She just went through her second one, and apparently, they make her allergic to sleep.  Lovely.  Nevertheless, we have survived.  Now that she's letting other people hold her again (another side effect of her growth spurts is that she cannot be held by anyone other than me.  At all.  Not even for a few minutes while I try to relieve myself, which is probably more than you wanted to know.  You're welcome.), I have plans to get a pedicure tomorrow.  It will be glorious.  I kind of feel sorry for the nail technician, because my feet are in serious need of care.

Good thing I've been going to the same lady for about ten years!  And now for the truly important question: what color polish should I get?  I've been thinking about it for the past few days (yes, really) and I have yet to decide.  Cast your vote in the comments!

So that's my weekend in a nutshell.  What are you going to do?  Hopefully something fun!

If you've been reading my blog, you know that Fridays are reserved for a post where I celebrate the little things that have happened during the week. This is a blog hop created by Vikki and now hosted by Lexa Cain, and it's one of my favorite blogging things to do.  I encourage you to check out her blog and the full list of participants, because who doesn't love reading about good things?

Celebrate the Small Things - Air Conditioning Edition

Hi, everyone!  Greetings from Texas, where the temperatures are only getting hotter.  According to the local weatherpeople, we still haven't hit triple-digits yet, but it's only a matter of time.  Remind me again why we live in Texas in the summer?!

This week, I'm celebrating a few things.  I got the cover for my November release, and I just love it!  Let's take a look, shall we?

Hello, my pretty!
This weekend also marks an experiment. Mister is going to take a night off on Saturday and go hang out with some friends. My Mom will come over, and we're going to rent some movies and hang out with Little Roo.  Then on Sunday, it's my turn for some R&R.  I'm debating on what I want to do. Spend the afternoon writing?  Go see a movie?  Dive into a book?  So many choices, but let's be real--I will probably wind up sleeping :)

What are you up to this weekend?

Celebrate the Small Things - 3 day weekend and Camp edition!

Hello, everyone!  How was your week?  Anything exciting going on in your part of the world?

This week, I'm celebrating the start of Camp NaNoWriMo.  For those of you who don't know, Novembers are deemed National Novel Writing Month, where participants aim to write 50,000 words during the month.  The idea is to turn off your inner editor and WRITE.  It's so much fun, they also have camp sessions during April and July where you get to set your own word count goal.  It's a really enjoyable event, mainly because of the air of excitement that surrounds the whole thing.  If you're also camping this month, I hope you'll look me up--my user name is Lara Lacombe :)

I'm also happy to report that Mister has the day off tomorrow, in celebration of July 4th.  We don't have plans to go anywhere to watch the fireworks (too many bugs and way too hot for Baby Girl), but he definitely wants to fire up the grill.

What are your plans for the weekend?  For US readers, do you have any plans to celebrate the 4th?
